Lexus Wants to Sell 250,000 250h Cars – Public Laughs

Here at Lexuspedia we obviously love anything built by the aforementioned auto maker – but we also live in reality. And with the global economy in such a tough space right now we have to laugh at the idea that 250,000 Lexus 250h sedans will be purchased by anyone.

For those who don’t remember – the 2010 250h is the Lexus equivalent to the Toyota Prius – a hybrid gas-electric car. Last week, the Japanese auto maker states they plant “on selling about 25,000 examples of its HS 250h during the vehicle’s first 12 months on the market.”

It’s a dangerous plan with the way our world is headed, financially speaking. But according to Mark Templin, group vice president of Lexus Division for Toyota North America, “More than 60 percent of entry luxury sedan buyers said they would consider hybrids…” Toyota also plans on selling 180,000 Prius vehicles in 12 months, so maybe it’s not so out of the question. We’ll be pleasantly surprised to see positive results.
