2008 Lexus RX 400h Review, Pictures & Video

In its third succession of hybrid vehicles, the RX 400h delivers notable fuel economy. Gaining an estimated gas mileage in the mid-20s, it rises above the RX 350. Alone in its class as a midsize luxury utility vehicle, the “green” SUV still maintains appealing luxurious qualities.
Riding on 17-inch wheels, the RX 400h has a new grille and new chrome door handles. Available in front- or all-wheel-drive, this Lexus is furnished with 10-way power front seats, dual-zone climate control, reclining second-row seats and a power rear liftgate. The dashboard has an illuminated battery-power meter. Each of the three batteries under the backseat has a cooling fan.
This hybrid is able to operate in gas or electric mode or a combination of both. Incorporating the 3.3-liter gasoline and V6 engine allow up to 268 horsepower. Properly equipped, the towing capacity can be up to 3,500 pounds.
The Lexus RX 400h is appropriately equipped with a variety of safety features that include; antilock brakes, side curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. An optional element is a cruise control adjustment that automatically slows down the SUV when too close to another vehicle at highway speeds.
Although this is a hybrid, Lexus triumphs with supreme performance.
