Combining a V8 gasoline engine with an electric motor is a first for cars, beginning with the 2008 Lexus LS 600 hybrid. This combination is meant to improve gas mileage and strengthen acceleration. The “environmentally friendly” four-door sedan has a lot of power, but lacks on fuel-economy; only getting 20/22 mph city/highway.
The LS 600h is heavily equipped with a lot of technological features. Aside from being furnished with 19-inch allow wheels, keyless ignition, parking assist with backup camera, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, Bluetooth, LED projector headlights and power door closers. The navigation system is run by a 30 gigabyte hared drive, which stores MP3 files and records memos.
Able to operate in all-electric mode, this hybrid can generate a high output of 438 horsepower. Known for having rear-wheel drive in the past, the new LS introduces all-wheel drive to the family.
Outfitted with a variety of safety features, the Lexus LS 600h has front-seat airbags, front knee airbags, traction and stability control and full-length side curtain airbags. This model also includes the Advanced Pre-Collision System.
This Lexus LS provides maximum quiet and comfort for the driver who doesn’t go for a particularly sporty ride.
