2008 Lexus GS 450 Hybrid Review, Pictures & Video
Hybrid cars have been around for longer than we think. First experimented in the early 20th century, Hybrids have become a more recent phenomenon with the worries of our society draining a lot of our necessary resources. Hybrid vehicles are a step toward achieving a “greener economy.” This is accomplished by using electric and less gas mileage.
The 2008 Lexus GS 450 hybrid is currently the only midsize sport sedan with a hybrid power train. Spotlighting performance, this hybrid does not get as much fuel efficiency as other hybrids. The 3.5-liter V6 engine with a total of 240 horsepower still transmits 30 percent more fuel efficiency than a similar non-hybrid vehicle.
Quite similar to sister sedans in the GS family, the minor changes for the 450h includes a new grille, side mirrors and front bumper. Standard features that are only optional on the other GS sedans are rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear park assist and a moon roof.
More comfortable for four passengers, the GS 450h is spacious enough to accommodate five, but the trunk is slightly smaller. Bearing a flawless finish, the leather heated seats and wood and aluminum interior trim is suitable for the luxurious cabin. Customary with the vehicle is dual-zone automatic climate control, electric rear sunshade, power-adjustable front and a 10-speaker audio system.
Lexus’ standard Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system features a complete set of electronic safety features. This comprises of antilock brakes, an electric stability system, electronic steering and electronic brakes.
